It was one of the most incredible rallies I have ever been to. The recent March For Our Lives event in Princeton, NJ was attended by thousands of all people of all ages who came to voice their concern about safer schools, stricter gun laws and getting national politicians to change laws regarding guns and background checks when purchasing guns.
“Enough is enough” said one rally attendee who brought her entire family to the event. Each member holding their own sign with the same message “Enough is Enough”.
March For Our Lives is a powerful national organization that brought hundreds of thousands of people around the nation out to selected big cities on March 24 to show support for stricter guns laws and keeping students and schools safe from future gun attacks.
“People need to realize this rally is only just the beginning. There will be plenty more. We are not stopping until we are heard,” said Mrs. Schneider who drove from South Jersey to be in the rally. Besides Princeton, marches continued in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. where almost a half a million marchers were in attendance and in other places such as Florida, California, Chicago and Boston. Several towns across the country also had their own rally in protest of gun violence. The Princeton rally was organized by Princeton High School senior Dziyana Zubialevich who for the past month, worked effortlessly to spread the message regarding gun violence prevention in schools. Other local groups that got involved to assist Zubialevich were Moms Demand Action, the League of Women’s Voters and The Coalition for Peace Action. Princeton literally came to a halt during the afternoon rally with several of the main roads closed for traffic. U.S. Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman (a very likeable lady) came to show her support for the cause. Representative Coleman is known for her support with students and schools.
The rallies maybe over, but the fight for stricter gun laws and safer schools will be going on until millions of families and students across the nation are heard loud and clear.
The journey continues…and so does the cause.
