The shocking news of world famous cartoonist and author Scott Adams passing away on January 13, 2026 from prostrate cancer is hard to accept for millions of ‘Dilbert’ fans around the world.

“It’s like losing a family member”, said one devoted fan who, among many, had followed Adams’s work for years and had written into The Ravi Report to request a tribute.

Adams was an well-known accomplished writer, author and cartoonist who changed the way the world saw satire.

His satirical manner of writing in which he often included social and psychological issues dealing with politics and the workplace, gained an international following with millions of fans who became life long devotees.

The iconic writer’s nationally syndicated cartoon comic strip ‘Dilbert’ was viewed daily by millions around the world and at one time carried in 2,000 newspapers in 65 countries and in 25 languages.

Adams’s social media followers, which grew almost weekly, tuned in anxiously to hear his commentary and take on the current political climate in America. His YouTube Channel, “Real Coffee with Scott Adams” had thousands of subscribers

Adams was also a trained hypnotist which he has stated helped him to achieve success in his writing and with creating the brilliant comic strip much loved character Dilbert.

Tributes poured in from all over the world including a wonderful one from President Trump who referred to Adams as the ‘Great Influencer.’

The cartoonist made California his home with a stunning 8,370 square feet home filled with unique art and of course Dilbert memorabilia. Adams was also a conservative who supported President Trump which many of his friends in the blue state of California did not appreciate it.

He didn’t care.

Adams often spoken openly about the troubles of the Democratic party and praised President Trump for his leadership and relentless efforts in making America great again.

Some judged Adams for his political stance and distance themselves away from his work and friendship while others embraced his commentary and view on politics on where the country was heading under the patriotic leadership of President Trump.

But the main premise that everyone agrees on is that Adams used his God given talents and ability to communicate to good use to create intelligent and thought provoking books and interesting content. His way of speaking to conservatives, liberals or the mainstream media, highlighted his unique gift in bringing attention and focus to things that mattered in the world of ‘Dilbert’ and in American society.
