It’s 2026 (by the time you read this, it pretty much will be) and it’s that time of year again to make those “New Year’s Resolutions” which nobody keeps anyway.
Losing weight, making new friends, finding a new job, getting divorced (or finding a mate), we have heard it all before.
So, for 2026, why not spend the entire year focusing on the most important thing there is: YOU!
Trying self-discovery in the New Year can lead to some surprising new inner discoveries about yourself that could possibly bring the change you were looking for and needed in your life.
And I’m not talking about changing your hair color or diet.
I’m talking more about digging deeper into your soul, your inner voice (yes, we all have one) and finding out what your key to happiness is and what brings you true joy and inner peace.
Now, many will be quick to jump in and say “well, I can’t find my inner peace, I’m working all day,” or “I don’t even know how to self start my life let alone discovering new things about myself.”
Blah. Blah. Blah.
Those negative inner voices will be gone during the self-discovery phase because you will be so focused on making a better you in 2026, that you won’t have time to let those bleak voices tamper with your positive energy.
Now, it’s not going to be easy. Achieving greatness in life is never easy nor should it ever be. However, spending time on your own self-discovery is kind of like investing in yourself in making the journey of life a rewarding one and one that will provide the kind of life you envisioned once you start making the effort and having discipline to follow through on your personal work.
That’s right. I used the word work here, because that’s what it is going to take to get to where you need to go with self-discovery.
Make 2026 a year that you discover new things about yourself and make new changes that will benefit YOU. Make time for YOU. In 2026, put YOU first. Build that self-discovery chapter in your life that was always put on the back burner. No more. Make it happen in 2026.
Tap into that adventurous side of you that was always sidelined for other obligations. I’m not referring to climbing Mount Everest or running in the annual NYC Marathon (although, those aren’t bad ideas!) but I am referring to starting your own business, learning a new language and than visiting that language’s country of origin. Write a book. Create a patent for a product that you always wanted to see on the shelves. Think adventure!!
Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it folks. We have one shot at making it a good one and one that will bring YOU joy and inner self-discovery.
Happy New Year to all and make that 2026 journey all about YOU
