The gifted Poitier, became the first black actor to win an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Lillies In The Field (1964) a film which explores faith and is a must see for Poitier fans. With his charming good looks and gifted ability as an actor, Poitier won the hearts of millions with films such as To Sir with Love (1967), A Raisin In The Sun (1961) and They Call Me Mr. Tibbs (1970) . This acclaimed star was globally recognized around the world for his movies, talents and stellar good looks. Forever youthful Betty White was Hollywood royalty to the very end. Her charming personality, witty sense of humor and kindness towards people and pets, kept her active and in demand in Hollywood until way into her 90’s. Often referred to as the “Energizer Bunny” for her ability to keep going, the former Golden Girls star gained notoriety and stardom from numerous roles in her over 8 decades of working as an entertainer. Who can forget the oversexed and under loved Sue Ann Nivens from the Mary Tyler Moore Show or the rich, snotty sister Ellen Harper from the Carol Burnett Show. Most recently, the characters of Rose Nyland from The Golden Girls and feisty Elka Ostrosky from Hot In Cleveland had White working way into her 70’s and 80’s. The forever young star transitioned on Dec. 31, 2021 just shy of turning 100 on January 17, 2022.

The surprise passing of brilliant comedian and actor Bob Saget is something that truly shocked the world of entertainment. From published reports, the famous and well-loved comedian, actor and TV host finished up his comedy show in Orlando, Florida, went back to his hotel and passed in his sleep. Fans were full of grief when they woke up to find out their beloved Full House star had suddenly died. Saget was well-respected by his peers especially by his good friend, actor John Stamos, who shared a close friendship with the comedian for decades. Saget’s impressive list of work will always be cherished but he will forever be remembered as Danny Tanner from Full House.

The Emmy Award winning Louie Anderson passing of cancer stunned the world of entertainment as the super star was too young to leave us. The talented icon, author and former Family Feud host and beloved star was also one of the kindest person you will ever meet. Anderson, who for 4 decades entertained the world with his unique comedy and versatile acting skills, was also an accomplished author of five books detailing his life and journey into Hollywood. But it was his role as Christine Baskets in the hit series Baskets that not only won him an Emmy Award for his portrayal of “mom” to two adult boys, but it also showed the world just how versatile and unbelievably talented he was. His character as Maurice, the fast food employee in Coming To America was another memorable role that Anderson received from his friendship with legendary actor Eddie Murphy.

Anderson has gone on record saying that his role in Baskets was sort of a tribute to his mom who was a big supporter of his talents earlier on in his career. Anderson transitioned on January 21, 2022 at the age of 68.

It was indeed a fun and exciting journey for these amazing and incredibly talented and gifted entertainers who left a big void in the world of entertainment for generations to come.
