The world woke up to the shocking news on July 11th that the much loved and patriotic US sitting Senator from South Carolina, Lindsay Graham has passed.

Graham was only 71 years old.

The cause of death based on reports released, was Graham has passed of aortic dissection often caused by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

People thought it was fake news at first.

Graham had just celebrated his birthday a few days earlier with his family and close friends and had just returned from a trip to Ukraine.

Having spent almost three decades in Congress, the much loved Senator and former Air Force lawyer, has had one of the most rewarding careers in the United States government serving in the US Senate since 2002 with his final time showing a great deal of support for President Trump.

From his humble beginnings in a pool hall, to becoming a top lawyer to eventually South Carolina Senator, Graham’s story is of courage, determination and patriotism.

Many people don’t know that Senator Graham became the legal guardian of his sister when they were young adults. Graham, who remained a bachelor all his life, became the guardian of his young sister Darline after his parents died. Graham’s father Florence James Graham died of a heart attack just fifteen months after his mother Millie Graham died of cancer in 1976.

Graham’s sister, Darline Graham Nordone was recently appointed by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster to fill her brother’s Senator seat.

Tributes from across the spectrum are coming in to honor Graham. From the global media, to co-workers to friends and long time Senate members, the South Carolina Senator was much loved and respected all over the world.

He will be greatly missed.

The US Senator Lindsay Graham Memorial Service will be held on July 28 in Washington, DC and in South Carolina July 29.
