It’s been 6 years since Bollywood superstar Sushant Singh Rajput has passed.

It was on June 14, 2020, that the gifted, intelligent, award-winning and globally recognized movie star decided to take his own life.

He was 34.

His sudden passing rocked the world of Indian films.

Rajput was one of the biggest stars of Indian cinema and was part of what many referred to as the “Young Bollywood Icons” league and with over 12 million followers on Instagram, and millions of followers on other social media platforms, the handsome movie star had the world at his feet.

The iconic film star was also the only Indian actor to appear on the cover of Vogue India along side supermodel Kendall Jenner for a special 10th anniversary issue. The photo shoot was photographed by globally famous and brilliant photographer, Mario Testino.

Rajput’s stunning “bachelor pad” was also featured in Vogue India in 2018 which displayed the millionaire’s personal attention to detail and style including with his vast collection of books. The actor was known throughout the film industry to be a voracious reader who collected books from all over the world.

Some of Rajput’s dramatic award-winning films include Kai Po Che! (2013), M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), Chhichhore (2019) and the international thriller Raabta (2017).

In addition to films, Rajput also won numerous global entertainment awards for his work as an actor, model and TV personality.

But all that international fame came to a halt when on June 14, 2020, when Rajput was found deceased in his luxurious flat located in the “Hollywood” part of Mumbai known as Bandra.

Police concluded that Rajput had taken his own life.

Numerous people close to Rajput were questioned, some even arrested, but the ultimate conclusion based on months of investigations, interviews and review of medical records, was that the superstar had committed suicide.

Even after 6 years later, Bollywood industry friends and co-workers still can’t believe the actor is gone.

Because Rajput had such a strong impact on the Indian film industry and because his work in films and television was so memorable, the much loved actor will always be remembered by millions of his fans for his intelligence, incredible films and kind nature.

The journey continues…and for Sushant Singh Rajput, it’s a heavenly one.
